Jessica & Brett’s Italian-Inspired Wedding

La Casa Toscana, Fort Myers

about the Wedding

Jessica and Brett were married at the iconic La Casa Toscana in Fort Myers, Florida in March of 2025. As fellow Boston locals, we immediately connected over the shared city while getting married at LCT, one of the most popular venues amongst my couples. It felt like both of my worlds colliding!

Jessica shared early on her vision for a very Italian-inspired wedding weekend. After considering a destination wedding in Italy, she and Brett landed on La Casa Toscana for its incredible European feel, while remaining within the states for logistical ease. She knew she wanted the romantic textures of handmade paper paired with a venue illustration of the house, so that is exactly where we started! Drawing from both The Lustre and Faven semi-custom suites, we found ourselves actually going down a much more custom path throughout the design phase.

Opening the envelope, a green floral pattern surrounded their initials on the envelope liner. The stack of cards was tied together with a blue silk ribbon for additional texture. Right on top was the reply card, featuring bright stripes and the JB initials once again. On the details card, we took the ‘weekend events’ approach to highlight each day of activities for their guests. As a destination wedding, guests were able to enjoy multiple days with the couple, celebrating with all their favorite people. This card carried over the green from the envelope, while also surrounding the text in a pale blue floral pattern to mirror the liners. Drawing inspiration from Gucci perfume campaigns and bright Italian summer colors, we pulled in color and pattern to bring this suite to life. Mahla and her team at The Eventeur were instrumental in helping to make this vision a reality!

Transitioning into the day-of details, we continued the natural textures and Italian feel into their stationery. Guests were first greeted by an eight foot linen welcome sign, bringing an element of fluidity and natural texture to the design. Woven baskets of parasols surrounded the sign for an Italian touch, while also practically shielding guests from the sun. The ceremony was held under the iconic gazebo, where Nandi brought out the show-stopping florals in shades of pink and green. During cocktail hour, guests sipped on drinks from Lily’s Bar, one of many nods to their sweet goldendoodle back home. I drew a line illustration of Lily on the cocktail napkins as well, which were scattered through their charcuterie grazing table. Another large-scale linen sign was used as a seating chart to guide guests to their seats. Each table was set with gorgeous green floral dinnerware, topped with oval menus and matching green silk ribbon. Guest’s names were hand-written in calligraphy along the perimeter of the oval shapes. After dinner, they danced the night away and Jessica changed into not two, but three stunning dresses. Together, she and Brett assembled their millefolgie wedding cake and spent the next day by the pool with all their favorite people. It was truly a weekend to remember!

Jessica and Brett, I loved getting to know you two and bringing your design to life. Thank you for your consistent trust as we worked toward this vision. I wish you both a lifetime of love and joy in your marriage together!
