An Organic Styled Shoot at The Mount

Last month, I had the privilege of designing some custom menus for a styled shoot with Alysia of AK Photography and Ashley of Ashley Campbell Events. From first glance, I was drawn to the stunning location. Tucked away in Lenox, Massachusetts, you will find The Mount. This property is the historic home of Edith Wharton, now turned museum and garden. This is exactly the type of New England charm that I am naturally drawn to, so I was on board to jump into this project.

With the main focus of our work being the table design, I wanted to create a menu that highlighted the natural textures of their inspiration board. We blended formal fonts and shapes with fresh elements of the wood and tassels to create this design. A unique border and letterpress menu was personalized with guest names written in a custom green calligraphy ink. This shade of green was mixed to match the mossy tassels hanging from the bottom of the card. The entire menu was mounted onto a wood paper backing to complete the textural experience. The light wood of the chairs was mirrored through the menu design, tying many of the table’s elements together.

The property at The Mount is absolutely stunning. From the historic home to the Italian-inspired gardens to the walls of hydrangeas, there is something beautiful around every corner. As the sun went down, I love how Alysia captured the table by candlelight. You could feel the warmth of a cozy dinner, surrounded by loved ones. A champagne tower was naturally the only way to end the evening in celebration!
